What is Virtual Web Hosting ?

We specialize in Virtual Web Hosting which means that you can find a a home for your web site on our super fast web servers and establish a presence on the internet. We can help register your own domain name which will become your unique address on the World Wide Web. Having your own domain name does not suggest that you are renting web space, and, since email can be addressed to your domain (eg. WWW.YOURNAME.COM ) you will not have to announce a new email address if you change internet providers. Return To Top of Page

Do you offer dial-up internet access ?

No, you will need local internet access in order to maintain your web site and retrieve email addressed to your site. Providing a specialized service means that we do not have hundreds of modems to maintain enabling us to devote more time to our customers and to the addition of enhancements to the entire site. Our web servers are connected to the internet via high capacity digital circuits to ensure an optimum level of performance. Return To Top of Page

Our experience has shown that 1000MB/month will be more than enough bandwidth for the average web site. Web Page Terminology

The Internet's rapid growth has presented us with a tremendous new way of communicating. Often, when something original such as the Internet arrives, we find new words that need defining. Although we will speak with you in plain English instead of cybertalk, there are some basic Internet related terms you should be aware of:

HTML Programming is the language of the Internet; every document on the Net is HTML format.

CGI Programming is the high-end programming language for the Internet. If you want to do interactive forms (questionnaire, comments or order) then CGI programming is required.

ShockWave Programming is one of the newest multi-media applications on the Internet allowing animation, motion and interactive graphics on your Web Page.

Applets - Think of Applets as mini- programs that let you run animation and video clips without having the software on your computer (they are also called plug-in's). This means that everybody, regardless of the type of computer they have, will be able to view computer animation clips with their Web Browsers.

Java Programming is an Internet scripting language that lets users integrate Java based applets into World Wide Web pages. Java allows you to add animation, video clips, and other multi-media features to your pages without having to play them on your computer.

RealAudio is Radio on the Internet, where you can listen to audio sounds in real time over a 14.4 modem directly from your Web Page. It creates great impact on people who visit your Site.

Web Chat lets people “talk” on the Internet by typing in questions and answers (similar to NewsGroups & on-line Chat Rooms). You can have up to 15 people “talking” at the same time.

E-mail forwarding - We supply this service to people who don’t have a computer or e-mail software. We provide the e-mail address; when we receive your e-mail , we print it out and fax it to you.

E-mail return form - This feature links your Web Page to your computer, so you can receive messages directly from your Web Site.

VRML: Virtual Reality Mark Up Language - The next step up from HTML. This is a Home Page that is in a 3-D environment. Move through 3-D space, click on images and pictures to move from place to place.

Image Mapping - Instead of clicking on buttons or icons, a complete graphic (picture or scene) becomes an image map and each area of the graphic is a hot link to another page or another location on the World Wide Web.

WorldWide Web Browsers - A Web Browser is software that lets you navigate on the Web. Most On-line service providers have a Browser, however, not all Browsers can support all the features found on the Internet. The two best Browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0 and Netscape Navigator version 3.0. Both of these Browsers support most of the high-end functions currently found on the World Wide Web today. Return To Top of Page
